Applying Your New GenSkinz To Your Generator

  1. Unroll your GenSkinz panels from their packaging. Lay out each piece. You will have a lid panel, front panel, and two side panels. There is no back panel as the back is typically against a house, fence, or other type of structure.
  2. Wash your generator thoroughly with soap and water, scrub if necessary. Dry it with a towel until it's completely dry.
  3. First, spray your generator lid with a very small amount of soapy water (not required). Take your lid panel, peel the backing away from the wrap and apply that to the generator lid. Starting with the left side and working your way to the right side, squeegee the soapy water out with a plastic flat edge while wiping away the air bubbles and wrinkles until completely smooth.  Use a towel to wipe the wrap dry, pressing firmly and working it towards the edges until all of the air bubbles and wrinkles are gone.
  4. Do the same with the front panel next. Go from left to right, lining the edges up with the seems of the panel and the top edge. You may open the lid for this application. *For NextGen series generators, use an Exacto knife, razor, or scissors to cut the wrap perfectly around corners, edges and vents.
  5. Repeat this for the side panels. Notice: the Guardian series model right side panel has two round punch-outs for the keyhole and the status light; and the left side panel has one punch-out for the keyhole *On Guardian series only*. Punch those circles out and smooth down the wrap around those two holes. Proceed with the longer sides which cover either side of the vents (Guardian models).  For NextGen series models, you will use your cutting tool to carve out these holes to fit the status light, vents and key hole, as well as around corners, edges and curves.
  6. Once finished, go back over each piece with your towel and hand pressure (or any plastic flat-edge) and make sure the bubbles are worked out.
  7. Your generator is now officially part of your landscaping, cleverly disguised in your favorite design. Enjoy!

* Notice: the newer NextGen series generators require some cutting effort to customize around corners, curves, vents, keyhole and status light. In order to remain DIY-friendly, and due to the more sleek, curved profile of this model, you will need an Exacto knife, razor or pair of scissors.

* GenSkinz will not replace or refund for faulty installation.
